报告摘要:

In this talk, we will propose a network-based SIR epidemic model with birth and death process to investigate the impact of demographics on the spread of infectious disease. Using the probability generating function and moment closure approximation approaches, we close the model with low dimensional ordinary differential equations. Stochastic simulations prove that this model captures the important properties of epidemic. Mathematical analysis of this model reveals that the basic reproduction number R0 is affected by the demographics, the first and second moments of the newborn’s degree distribution. Furthermore, we analyze the influence of birth or death rate on the basic reproduction number and find a complex relationship between them. It is interesting to found that a lager birth rate may also inhibit the spread of disease.
