报告人简介：Prof. Naoki Katoh is a Specially Appointed Professor in the Department of Informatics, School of Science and Technology, Kwansei Gakuin University. His recent research interests are in Big Data, Optimization, Combinatorial Optimization, and Algorithm Analysis. He has over 160 peer-to-peer publications in SIAM Journal on Computing, Journal of the ACM, Mathematics of Operations Research, and other top-tier journals. He is now the leader of a team called "Big Data Algorithms"(2014.10-2020). This team consists of more than 50 researchers. In this talk Prof. Katoh will explain what they are doing and the major results obtained.

报告内容简介：CREST is a program funded by JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency) for team-oriented research with the aim of achieving the strategic goals set by the government. CREST consists of more than 20 programs . Big Data CREST is one of them. It is supervised by Prof. Masaru Kitsuregawa. (Director General, National Institute of Informatics / Professor, Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo). It consists of 12 teams.  The overall goal of this CREST is "Creation, advancement, and systematization of innovative information technologies and their underlying mathematical methodologies for obtaining new knowledge and insight from use of big data across different fields".
